STOKE CITY (XTRA TIME)

Through their Xtra Time programme, Stoke City aims much of its work at NEET young people – those Not in Education, Employment or Training. Opportunities are offered to these youngsters to gain qualifications in an interesting non-school environment, and also learn from local businesses about the changing world of work, positive thinking, mentoring and role models. The club also offer interesting and innovative football-based education sessions that are ideal for youngsters who have slipped behind a year at school. Xtra Time received a PL/PFA grant of £300,000 to establish its work and the project fits in neatly with the many other projects that the club run to offer interesting and different activities to the city’s young people.
